Karna – One of the True Warriors of Mahabharata

We all know Karna by different names like; Angaraj, Sutaputra, Radhey and Vasusena. But many of us may not know about him in details like why he is having all these names. So today we will talk about Karna – One of the true warriors of Mahabharata

Karna was son of Kunti and Suryadev. Kunti has got a divine Shloka as blessing from Rishi – sage Durvasa during his stay at hr father’s palace, which was having supernatural power of giving birth to any desired GOD’s child. So out of desperation or say curiosity Kunti chanted this shloka and wished to give birth to a Son of Sun (Suryadev). The wish was granted and Karna borned with shining and glittering Gold Kavach and Kundal (divine Bodyarmer and earring) which makes him special and gifts him immortality which made him named as Karna – and Suryaputra.

As he was son of unmarried Kunti, so due to fear of society she put the newborn baby in a padded basket, waterproofs and seals it and set it adrift in the river Ashvanadi by the palace. The basket floats river to river from Ashvanadi to charmanavati then Yamuna and finally reaches the Ganges River and on it into the kingdom of Anga (ancient Bengal). There, it is found by a charioteer’s wife Radha, who takes the baby Karna to her husband Adhiratha Nandana. They adopt him right away and name him Vasushena.

But as he was brought up by a charioteer, he was known as sutputra and was not allowed to learn the martial arts by Guru Drona, Kripa and Vishnu’s  Avtar Parshurama. He was one of the best learner and he was so skilled that he learns everything very quickly and keeps on improving his skills.

He learned Archery from Parshurama saying he is a Brahmin, He lied and for which he paid as upon knowing the truth Parshrama cursed him that he will forget all you learned when you most need it.Karna was one of the true warrior of Mahabharata.

He was the Best & True Friend of Duryadhana, so to take care of his respect and he can participate in a competition of archery against Arjuna, it was mandatory to have a kingdom,  Duryodhana announced him as the king of Angas (Bengal) – thus he named as – Angaraj.

He was a true giver and giver. He never let any one go empty handed from his place. Whatever one asks him to give he gives it right away without thinking on it at all. His this nature has made him so welknown as Daanvir Karna. He does this without expecting anything in return & if anyone force to give some thing in return he never accepts it. This behavior of him has made him The True Great Giver
