Reading is one of the most useful habits a young person can develop. Books expose readers to new ideas, places and experiences. Reading also helps people understand different points of view and increases their knowledge of the world.
For students, regular reading can improve vocabulary and writing skills. It can also make it easier to understand difficult subjects because students become more familiar with different ways of expressing ideas. Reading outside the classroom therefore supports formal education.
However, developing a reading habit requires discipline. Students may find it difficult to read regularly because of entertainment, social media or other distractions. Setting aside a specific period for reading each day can help overcome this problem.
26(a). Why is reading considered a useful habit?
26(b). Mention two things books expose readers to.

Public transportation plays an important role in modern communities. Buses, trains and other forms of public transport allow many people to travel without using private vehicles. This can reduce the number of vehicles on busy roads.
Public transportation can also be less expensive than owning a private vehicle. People who use buses or trains do not have to pay directly for fuel, maintenance and parking. Reliable public transport can therefore make travel more affordable.
Good public transportation also benefits the environment. Fewer private vehicles can mean less traffic congestion and lower emissions. For public transport to work effectively, however, services must be safe, reliable and reasonably comfortable.
